The Scouts Canada uniform represents a history of involvement, of association with a set of principals, of helping others, and of fun, adventure, activity, and learning by doing.  Your uniform identifies you as a member of the world's largest youth organization.

Rooted in more than 100 years of tradition, the iconic Scouting uniform has undergone an exciting new makeover! As part of a comprehensive national Action Plan for Canadian Scouting, Scouts Canada announced its partnership with the Joe Fresh® brand to design a stylish and dynamic clothing line that reflects the organization’s spirit and energy. The contemporary uniforms were revealed in March 2011 during a celebratory event held in Toronto, Ontario - and were adopted for use in September 2011.

For uniform, our Troop wears the formal uniform for one meeting every month.  For the remaining meetings, youth may wear their neckerchief and a Scouting T-Shirt (either the green "Tech" T-Shirt or one of our own Troop shirts).  For other activities, the appropriate uniform or activity wear is specified as required.

Formal Uniform

This uniform is appropriate to wear for formal events, major ceremonies, certain fundraisers, and other occasions as established by the Leaders and the Court of Honour.

The East Strathcona Scout Troops require a full uniform be worn by all members including a green shirt, leather or web Scouts Canada belt, neckerchief, neckerchief slide, navy blue or tan pants (no jeans).

The official Scouts Canada Safari Hat (a wide-brimmed, "Tilley"-style hat) is the only headwear permitted with the uniform, though it is no longer part of our regular uniform.

Program Activity Uniform

This uniform is appropriate to wear to weekly meetings, to camps, while travelling, and on outings.

The "traditional" option includes the Formal Uniform listed above.

The new option features a green "Tech" t-shirt, navy blue or tan pans (no jeans), optional fleece vest or hoodie, neckerchief, and neckerchief slide.
