Rappel Camp Scout Report
We got to camp on Friday night. There were already some tents set up but we all had to set up some. We had mug up then we all went to bed. It was around -4 overnight. When we woke up we had BLTs breakfast. After that we went down to the rock face. When we got there we found out that the people running the camp had got in late and we couldn't rappel for another hour. We went down a ways and found out that Alex and John were making a shelter to sleep in and were going to build it in the ditch. I thought that it was a good idea and asked Kris if he wanted to make one too. He said yes so we asked Scouter Phil if we could. He said yes too so we made one. Right when we finished we went down to the rock face to rappel.
It was warm on the rock face and we had fun. I did both of the top-rope climbs in the morning. We went back to the campsite for lunch and we learned that our shelters were too far away and we had to make new ones closer. After lunch we went back down to the rock face and did some more activities. I did one top-rope climb and rappelling after lunch. After that we went back to camp and made our new shelter. We had dinner and then played Capture The Flag against 19th Oakville. My favourite part of the game was when Nick and I were crawling away and some people from Oakville thought that we were a warthog that was going to eat them. At the end of the game we went back for mug up and the camp fire. When we got there we found out that we couldn't sleep in our shelters. We went and took the down and then slept in our tents. When we woke up we had breakfast, packed up our gear, packed up the tents and then left.
