D.I.B.C. 2003
May 9-12, 2003 - Camp Bel

The Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee, held this year from May 9-12, 2003, is one of the most popular camps in Ontario. Over 3500 Scouts, Guides, Pathfinders, Leaders and 3rd year Cubs from across Ontario and the US typically attend this annual event. This year, due to the SARS concerns in Toronto, many of the American Troops did not attend.  Nevertheless, with over 2000 participants, the camp was an impressive site!  For the East Burlington Scouts, this was our 4th consecutive  trip to this giant event.

It was an action-packed, fun weekend, with over 100 events to choose from.  Events included rappelling, zip lines, paddle making, bike races, log sawing, obstacle courses, as well as Patrol competitions.  There were more activities than we had time for.  As we have done in the past, 3rd year "Scubs" from the 10th and 15th Burlington Packs attended along with us as a linking event.  When the Court Of Honour was asked a week later if this was a camp we would attend for a 5th year in 2004, the answer was a resounding YES!
