Little Rock Crest

U.S.S. Little Rock
April 12-13, 2003

The Spring of 2003 brought an unusual camp for our PL's and APL's.  On April 12 and 13, 4 members of our Court of Honour got together with 6th, 10th, and 15th Burlington's Cub Packs for a weekend adventure which included a visit to Fort George, and an encampment aboard the U.S.S. Little Rock.

The Little Rock is a decommissioned WWII Cruiser which now forms part of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park.  Each Friday and Saturday night for nine weekends in the spring and nine weekends in the fall, the Naval & Military Park hosts overnight encampments aboard the Little Rock for up to 225 young people.  The Scout groups are berthed abroad the USS Little Rock and served an evening meal and breakfast on the ship's mess decks.  The next day is spent touring the ship and the other attractions in the park.
