September 21 , 2002 - Camp Manitou
On Saturday September 21, 2002, at Camp Manitou, Burlington Area conducted its annual one-day B.-P. Woodsman Outdoor Skills Workshop. Most of the first year Scouts attended. This is a special workshop designed for newer Scouts, and covers some of the basic Scoutcraft and Outdoors skills every Scout should know. The day features a series of activities including first aid, knots & lashings, orienteering, and safe use of gas stoves and lanterns. This day is an excellent training course as well as a chance for our new Scouts to get to know other Scouts and Scouters. It is also a good opportunity for some of the more experienced Scouts to brush up on their skills. Many skills taught in the workshop come in handy the following week at Co-Op.
