Canoe Camp 2002
June 7-9, 2002 - Camp Wheeler

As a final preparation for our summer Algonquin Adventure, the Troop traveled north to the District Canoe Camp.  Once again the camp was held at Wheeler Scout Camp, a canoe base camp with cabins run by 26th Hamilton.  The camp was an opportunity for Scouts to learn canoe skills prior to hitting the Algonquin interior.  For the 3rd straight year, our own Scouter Bill was Camp Chief, and once again the District invited a couple of Pathfinder Units to the camp.  With over 120 participants, things were a bit crowded, but the weekend was an outstanding success.

Most of our Scouts stayed in cabins for the weekend at Wheeler's base camp. Water activities took place in the adjoining lake, and the camp provided all meals. Several Scouts joined the annual overnighter on a nearby canoe route.
