District Fall Soap Box Derby 2001
November 3, 2001 - Kelso Conservation Area

Keeping the momentum going from last spring , the Burlington District Scouting Soap Box Derby returned for a fall session on Saturday November 3, 2001. The Derby was once again held on the grounds of Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. 53 youth from across the city, including 9 from our 3 Troops entered the fall event. Groups built up their own vehicles around a common wheel and steering system supplied through the District. Participants were also required to wear helmets and have restraint systems on their "racers".

As we had not yet built our own racer, we did what many groups did and borrowed the cars from other groups.  Since the event was another smash success, we're making plans to build and race our own car in the upcoming Spring Race!
