| Canoe Camp 2000
This year we returned to the annual District Canoe Camp, held from May 26 to May 28 at Wheeler Scout Camp, a canoe base camp near Haliburton run by 26th Hamilton. The camp was an opportunity for Scouts to learn valuable canoe skills in a controlled environment, and from experienced instructors. This year our own Scouter Bill was Camp Chief! Aside from Scouter Bill swamping his canoe and locking his keys in his car, the weekend was a success!
Our less experienced Scouts stayed in cabins for the weekend at Wheeler's base camp. Water activities will took place in the adjoining lake, and the camp provided all meals. Will, Matt, Cam, and Chris joined Scouter Tony to take part in an overnight out trip with other senior Scouts and Venturers from the District.
