Wheeler Race 2000
This year we ran our 2nd annual 18 Wheeler Race on March 23. For those of you who have not heard of them, an 18 Wheeler is a model tractor-trailer that is built out of the pieces of wood in a kit package. It is basically a more challenging version of the Kub Kar races the Cubs do. Why do we build the trucks? Several reasons - for fun, to race against fellow Scouts, and for more fun. We did this for the first time with 15th Burlington last year, and it was decided after the race to turn this into an annual event. 13 vehicles were entered into the race this year! Congrats to Nick, Will, and Jeff for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes, and to Chris for his best looking truck win.
As an added bonus in 2000, we were asked to run some demo heats at the annual Burlington District Kub Kar Fun Day! Hopefully, we will have a few Troops to compete with next year.......
