District Canoe Camp 1999

One of the year's most eagerly anticipated events was the annual District Canoe Camp, held from May 28 to May 30 at Wheeler Scout Camp, a canoe base camp near Haliburton run by 26th Hamilton.  The camp was an opportunity for Scouts to learn valuable canoe skills in a controlled environment, and from experienced instructors.

Our first and second year Scouts stayed in cabins for the weekend at Wheeler's base camp. Water activities will took place in the adjoining lake, and the camp provided all meals. Our 4th year Scout, Matt, took part in an overnight out trip with other senior Scouts and Venturers from the District.
