ON THE TRAIL

During our Algonquin excursion, we took to the trails to experience some of the natural beauty of Algonquin Park, plus learn a bit about the park's storied history.  In total, we hiked over 12 km of trails in locations through the park.

On the Booth's Rock trail, we looked at the route for the Interior Trip from the shore, and saw the devastation caused by a careless fire ignited on the trail just weeks after our last visit here in 1998.  We were joined by the 3rd year "Scubs" for the Beaver Pond Trail, and hiked the park's newest trail, the Big Pines Trail.

A highlight was our trip through the Algonquin Logging Museum, and climbing around some of the logging equipment from days gone by.  And who can forget catching that elusive moose on the way to Opeongo.....
