|Winter / Spring
The Cubs kept busy during Winter 1998, starting with a Guide Badge Road Rally in January, and a series of "Tool Time" nights. A visit to Dundurn Castle in Hamilton helped us work on our Family Helper badge. At the Parent/Youth Banquet we were treated to some Native Canadian story telling courtesy of naturalist Joe Paquette. The pack also learned how newspapers are made in our tour at The Hamilton Spectator.
This year's strange weather lead to a Spring-like winter camp, where we all received our own "Olympic Medals". Finally, our annual Kub Kar race saw Nick D., Pat, and Mike D. win "fastest kars", while Aaron J. and Sean D. won the pack-voted "Best Looking Kar" award.
The Spring saw us participating in Scoutrees for Canada, hiking a whopping 14 km on our JOTT '98 Camp, and lip-synching to Aqua, Chumbawumba, Baggy's The Irish Rovers, Kaa's Tom Jones, The Men In Black and the Spice Girls at our "Cubapalloza" Night. In May our Senior Cubs ("Scubs") joined Akela, Raksha, and Kaa on a hike to Ball's Falls Conservation Area (and got just a WEE bit wet).
