About Rover Scouts

15th Strathcona Rover Scouts

15th Strathcona is restarting our Crew for 2012/2013.

If you are interested in the Rover Scout program at 15th Strathcona, please contact us at Rovers@15thstrathcona.scouter.ca

For the 2012/2013 year, there is no fee to join the Rover Scout program.

Rovering is a part of the Scouting movement designed for people aged 18 to 26. The motto of Rovering is "Service," which is what we offer to the community around us. We go camping, attend moots (large gatherings of Rover Scouts), and generally have a lot of fun! You need not have been in Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, or Venturer Scouts to be a Rover Scout.

The outdoors is an essential part of the Rover program. Rovers often participate in adventurous activities like mountain climbing, white water rafting or sailing.

Rover Scouts also help their local communities by running service activities such as food drives, park clean-ups, and tree plantings.  Most of the members of our Crew are typically active leaders with sections within the Burlington Area.

Rover Scouts meet in a group called a crew. Rovers develop and manage their own program under the mentorship of a respected advisor. Rover Scouts adhere to a promise and motto.

The Rover Scout Promise:
On my honour
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and the Queen
To help other people at all times,
And to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

The Rover Scout Motto:
